Kid Mentality

Don't you love those little things you thought and believed as a kid? And how sometimes those ideas stayed with us so that when something happens to make you reflect back on them they bring a smile to your face? Like:

Santa Claus is real and he used to bring presents to you once a year!
That your Dad is the best Superhero in the whole wide world and nothing can hurt him!
Or just putting a Bandaid on your owie made it feel better!
And how Fairytales always have a happy ending!

Well as you get older you realize the truth about everything. Like:

Why would Santa, a fat guy in a suit that you've never met before want to bring you presents?
That your Dad isn't a Superhero but is still your Hero.
Or when you put a bandaid on your owie it just numbs the pain momentarily but your owie might start hurting again when you take the bandaid off.
And life isn't a Fairytale.

We all wish we could keep those thoughts and beliefs we once had forever but reality hits and the truth sinks in and we learn that as we get older life gets harder and our thoughts and beliefs change. But do they? While we can't stop our lives from changing, why can't we keep our "Kid Mentality" and live more in the moment? Like:

Why can't Santa be real? How else do all those presents get under the tree?
That even if your Dad can't fly he will still be there to catch you when you fall. That makes a real Hero.
Or if Bandaids really do numb the pain while they're on, why take them off at all before your owie is healed?
And why not make life a Fairytale and have it end how you want? Every Fairytale at one point had some bad stuff in the story line too!

My Spur of the Moment Trip to Logan

I took yesterday off work and decided to head to Logan thursday night. It was a spur of the moment thing. I needed to get away so I did. It was a nice break even if it wasn't very long, I'll take what I can get!
Thanks for letting me crash on your couch, Jan! :)
Shelby, thanks for lunch, sorry I didn't tell you what I needed to and that I never gave you a hug! :( Oh and thanks for locking me out of the house! :)
Lisa, that road heading back out was pretty nice! :) I would have text that information to you, but you know, that won't work.
It was fun and I'm glad I went. To top it all off we wrote a letter to Logan (which I'm sending today) and that was a lot of fun! I made it funny, of course! Don't let the others fool you when they try telling you it was them!
Thanks for making my trip fun, next time I'll try and make it a time when I can stay longer and not have to get back to work the next day!

????

Is meeting someone just once enough for you to know there could be something there? Is going to meet them a second time a good idea? Will it give you false hope, too much hope, or no hope at all? Is seeing them again worth it or is it too painful? Would the feeling be mutual or a one way thing? Is it really a true feeling or is it just one you want bad enough that you're telling yourself its happening? Will it turn into the fairytale you wanted in your life or will it just be something that happened once and the memory will fade? Can one person believe in something enough to make it possible even when it seems impossible? In this situation can you believe in the saying "anything IS possible?"

Randomness

When I have some down time at work my mind likes to wander so the other day I started writing down some random facts about myself that I was thinking about. Random I know but hey thats me! :)

-I don't like Mandarin Oranges. Actually there are only about 2 0r 3 fruits I don't like.
-I can do something pretty weird with my little toe on my right foot and my niece Riley is the only other person I've seen do it.
-My mom and I joke around saying we only have a few things in common-like gender-and with everything else I'm like my dad.
-I've never been on an airplane.
-I miss having a trampoline to jump on in the rain.

Don't ask me why I thought of these but like I said, when I am at work my mind wanders. I think about a lot of different stuff so I decided to use a couple as blogs.

Fun At Work!

I thought I would post something about being paid to ride ATV's at work today! Yes thats right, I got to ride ATV's at work today. Its nice doing fun stuff like that and getting paid for it! They decided to ATV certify me. I believe its because Survey wants to steal me back from Sanitation. I don't know that that will happen anytime soon. I like Sanitation to much, plus I get way better hours on Sanitation. Which is why I went there in the first place! I thought I would post this, just so you can all be jealous of the things I get to do at work! The things the Government pays me for!!!
