Farewell Sister Bradley!

One of my two best friends has inspired me so I decided I would write a little bit of what I am feeling at this time in my life.
A little over two years ago I said goodbye to my best friend, Logan who put his life on hold and went and did the most amazing thing, he served the Lord for two years! As hard as it was for me to say goodbye to him I had my other best friend, Shelby to turn to. It was amazing how close we grew to each other, if I thought we were good friends before I was wrong. She helped me in so many areas, she taught me so many things, and she was ALWAYS there when I needed someone. I couldn't have gotten through the last two years without her!
Logan came home to two excited best friends but deep down I knew the next 3 weeks were going to be tough. Shelby had made the decision to put her life on hold and do the most amazing thing, she chose to go and serve the Lord for eighteen months! I could see the end in site and I hated anytime anyone brought it up but I would do my best to continue the role of being the "heartless" one in my family or the "tough" one in Shelby's eyes. It wasn't until Monday Dec 15 2008 that I let it catch up to me. Spending one last day together as "The Three Stooges" was difficult all around. None of us could put off much longer! As much as I wanted time to pause I felt it speed up. At last the moment came for those last smart remarks, the teasing, the tickling in some cases, the hugs, the I Love Yous, it was time for Farewell.
As hard as it was, like before I have a best friend to turn too. I know that it is our time to grow closer to one another and to be the ones sending Shelby funny, random letters and pictures. Our time to be the slackers in writing enough letters and keeping her in the loop. While we will strive to do our best I don't believe we can make promises in fear of breaking them but we can do our best!
I know she won't get to read this but a note to Sister Shelby Nicole Bradley:
Shelby,
We have been through so much and I don't know what I would have done without you. Now as I let you go know this: You are truly the most amazing person. You are a wonderful example to me. I look forward to hearing your wonderful stories and the memories you are going to make. You will do amazing things in the next 18 months. You will touch so many lives out there as you will to the lives back here. Know that I love you so very much and I am so happy for you! You will be missed but in comparison to what you are doing, will it matter that much?! Good luck with everything! I will do my best with what you asked of me for each month you serve! I love you and always remember, "Its not just a visitors center!"

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Utah Jazz

I finally made it to a NBA basketball game! It was Oklahoma City Thunder playing in Utah. My mom got some tickets through her work so she gave them to me. My dad and I made a trip to Utah to watch the game. They weren't the best seats but they were free so why not?! Plus I LOVE Kevin Durant so of course I wanted to go even more!!!
The pictures aren't the best but that is the tip off, which Oklahoma won!
That is the back of #35, which is of course, Kevin Durant! I had a good time watching him play! :)
Kevin Durant is the one with the towel over his head! I couldn't pass up the opportunity of taking the picture with him like that!

I don't have the picture up yet, but Kevin Durant was the leading scorer in the game, out scoring Carlos Boozer, 24-21 I believe. :)

I have wanted to go to a game with my dad for a long time so I am glad we finally got to. I was the only one cheering for Oklahoma (that I know of) but I had fun. Yes, the Jazz won but Oklahoma at least made a ball game out of it in the second half by outscoring the Jazz 35-20 in the 3rd quarter. They lost by about 7, even though Oklahoma jumped to a 8-0 lead in the first quarter. Not sure what happened after that. As soon as they lost the lead the Jazz were well over 20 before Oklahoma finally was higher than 10. Oh well. I had so much fun and I am glad I finally got to go! It was a spur of the moment trip planned Friday morning when my mom got a hold of the tickets and my dad and I came home after the game, so we got home at close to 2 in the AM, but it was definitely worth it! Thanks for going with me dad!

Get Smart!

I just had a wonderful time at the movies with my parents. We decided to go see Get Smart. Let me just say that I think its my new favorite! Or at least it goes in the top 10! It was so funny! I loved it! My mom and I were laughing almost none stop for 2 hours, whereas my dad didn't start laughing until about an hour into it. I don't know what his deal was! :) It was a good laugh, something I needed! I'm very glad I went. Oh and we got in free, you can't beat that!!!

Evening of 9 Ball!!

My mom and I decided to play a couple games of 9 ball tonight to have some fun! We played with our hoochie-mahadas, otherwise known as pool cues. Ya my mom was saying something and that is what came out! You've got to love her vocabulary! :)

We played in our matching boots-which we bought earlier in the evening! We were going to see if you could guess which feet belonged to which person but we thought it would be kinda easy to guess-given that she never wears anything but basketball shorts! :)
We decided to see who could shoot better behind their back...
Ya I think I won!!! :) haha Ya I have no idea who won..probably her actually..but then again we both messed up quite a bit tonight. You should have seen the shot when I missed the cue ball completely. Funny I know! :)
This is what the table looks like when I win! Yes believe it or not I went 3 for 3 tonight!!! Good times! Oh and ask my mom she'll even tell you I won! :)

My 6 unspectacular quirks!

1. I have OCD when I play cards. In solitaire I have to have the Aces in a certain order.

2. When I play cards with people, if I get the chance I put them all the same direction or if they are face up I put them in an order, normally counting.

3. I have to do things in even numbers. Like eating mints. I hate odd numbers!!

4. If I hear a funny story or come up with a funny line, I have to call Cortney to tell her.

5. I love sleep. I like to sleep a lot. I can go without it but I'd rather not! I NEED my sleep..like lots of it!!!

6. I say sorry all the time and my friends yell at me for doing this! But I can't help it. Sorry.
